Luxury German Automaker Standardizes Another 2010 Model with HD Radioâ„¢ Technology

- WHAT: Ending the year with a bang, BMW will offer HD Radio™ Technology as a standard feature in its new 2010 5 Series Gran Turismo sedan.
- Along with the recently announced 2010 BMW models X5 and X6 Sports Activity Vehicles, which offer HD Radio Technology as standard equipment, the 2010 BMW 7 Series, 6 Series, 1 Series, 3 Series, and Z4 Roadster also sport the digital broadcast infotainment system as standard. This brings the total number of BMW models offering HD Radio Technology as a standard feature to eight. The company continues to offer HD Radio Technology as an option across the balance of its line: the 5 Series and the X3.
- WHY: BMW drivers will be able to enjoy the digital infotainment, offering nearly 2,000 HD Radio stations on the air, more than 1,000 new FM HD2/HD3 channels and crystal-clear quality sound – all for no subscription fee. HD Radio Technology is currently available to 85 percent of Americans.
- WHEN: The 2010 550i Series Gran Turismo will be available in BMW Centers starting December 2009.
